Storm Damage?
Don't Face Your Insurance Claim Alone
We document the damage, meet your adjuster on-site, and restore your roof, so you're not left paying for what insurance should cover.
How the Insurance Claims Process Works
Step - 01

Assess the Damage
Sometimes damage is obvious—a fallen tree, missing shingles, water stains spreading across your ceiling. Often it's not. Hail bruising and wind damage frequently aren't visible from the ground, which is why a professional inspection matters before you file anything.
G&C Restoration performs a free, thorough roof assessment and documents every affected area with photos and measurements.
Step - 02

File Your Claim
Once you know the scope of damage, you contact your insurance company to open a claim. Provide the date of the storm if known, describe the visible damage, and get your claim number.
Pass that number to us immediately so we can begin coordinating with your adjuster.
Step - 03

Adjuster Meeting
Your insurance company will send a claims adjuster to inspect the roof and determine the value of your claim. This is the most critical step—and the one where homeowners most often get shortchanged.
G&C Restoration meets your adjuster on-site, walks the roof with them, and points out damage that might otherwise be missed. We also provide our own detailed estimate so the scope of work is clear from the start.
Step - 04

Claim Approval & First Payment
Once your claim is approved, your insurance company issues a check to begin repairs. Important: this first check is typically for the estimate amount minus depreciation and your deductible, so it will likely be less than you expected.
This is normal! The remaining funds are released after the work is completed.
Step - 05

Roof Repair or Replacement
With the claim approved, we complete the work whether that's targeted repairs or a full roof replacement.
Materials are rated for Kentucky weather and every project is overseen by a Jobsite Supervisor who keeps you informed throughout.
Step - 06

Final Invoice & Second Payment
After the work is complete, we send a final invoice to your insurance company. The insurer then releases the remaining funds (the recoverable depreciation) and issues a second check covering the balance of the work.
We walk you through this step so nothing gets held up.
How We Protect Your Claim
and Your Wallet
We document the damage with photos, measurements and a written report formatted for adjusters. We meet your adjuster on-site to walk the roof together. We review the adjuster's scope of work to make sure nothing was overlooked because under-scoped claims are one of the most common reasons homeowners end up paying out of pocket. And we complete the restoration to manufacturer specification and local code, so your warranty and your home are both protected.
Be Careful
Who You Hire After a Storm
After a major storm, out-of-state "STORM CHASERS" often go door-to-door offering free roof inspections. Many disappear after the check clears, leaving homeowners with unfinished work and no local accountability. When you choose G&C Restoration, you're working with a licensed, bonded and insured contractor based right here in Richmond. We'll still be here after your claim is settled.
